VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (Mar. 22, 2024) – Centura College is proud to announce the recipients of the John Anthony Carbone Jr. Memorial Scholarship, awarded to deserving students from its Chesapeake and Norfolk campuses. Tiffany Montejo, Maya Hightower, Chandanai Turner, and Jacqueline from the Chesapeake campus; and Alejandra Damas, Amanda Morales, Nyc Bibs, and Tiffany Clark from the Norfolk campus were awarded this scholarship.
A ceremony and reception, attended by the Carbone family, campus leadership, and Norfolk Mayor Dr. Kenneth Alexander, were held at the Chesapeake campus earlier this week. Students were given scholarship certificates and thanked the Carbone family. The scholarship, aimed at supporting Hampton Roads residents pursuing or enrolled in medical programs at Centura College, provides up to $3,000 in funding over an academic year. Recipients can utilize the funds towards tuition, books, fees, and other educational expenses.
